Job Summary
The District Security & Environmental Health and Safety Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance ofExpeditorsSecurity and Environmental Health and Safety Standards within the district. This roleassistswith compliance activities training coordination incident reporting risk assessments Service Provider reviews and awareness initiatives. The Specialist works closely with district leadership employees Service Providers customers and Regional Security and Environmental Health and Safety teams to promote safe secure and compliant operations
Program Administration and Governance
Support implementation of district security and environmental health and safety policies procedures standards and applicable local requirements.
Maintain applicable security and safety systems and records including the Security Health and Safety Portal CCTV intrusion alarms access control fire protection equipment forklifts and related compliance documentation.
Track andmonitorcorrective and preventive actions and Environmental Health and Safety Improvement Opportunities communicating risks delays and unresolved items to district leadership and theappropriate RegionalManager/Director.
Prepare security and environmental health and safety metrics and updates to support District Business Review discussions.
Support Business Continuity Plan development testing and related documentation.
Assistwith communicating new initiatives local regulatory changes training materials and updates provided by Regional and CHQ Security and Environmental Health and Safety teams.
Incident Reporting Investigation and Risk Mitigation
Support reporting documentation and follow-up of district security incidents workplace injuries and near misses.
Assistwith investigations and root cause analysis in coordination with district leadership and Regional and CHQ resources.
Maintain incident records and track corrective and preventive actions through closure within requiredtimeframes.
Provide guidance to employees and management ontimelyandaccurateincident reporting and escalate concerns appropriately.
Participate in facility inspections and risk assessments documentidentifiedhazards or security vulnerabilities and monitor mitigation activities through resolution.
Communication Awareness and Culture
Promote security and safety awareness and encouragetimelyreporting of concerns throughout the district.
Coordinate andmaintainrelevant security and safety communications with district teams Regional and CHQ resources Service Providers customers and other stakeholders as directed.
Coordinate security and safety communications signage educational materials orientations and awareness activities.
Assistwith preparing presentations and communicating standards at the level of detailappropriate toeach job function.
Customer Sales and Service Provider Support
Support product sales and account management with security and safety information related tojurisdictions carriers warehouses regulatory programs and customer requirements.
Respond to customer and ServiceProviderinquiries within the role scope andassistwith customer audit preparation.
Assistwith or conduct designated security and safety onboarding orientation for new Service Providers.
Assist with Service Provider Risk Reviewsmaintainsupporting documentation and track non-compliant items with the Service Provider Manager and applicable department leaders.
Support documentation and follow-up activities used to confirm Service Provider compliance with Expeditors standards and general controls.
Operational Performance and Regulatory Compliance
Monitor and document district compliance with applicable local security environmental health and safety regulations in coordination with district or external compliance officers.
Support district implementation of Expeditors Security Standards and Environmental Health and Safety Standards.
Assistwith monitoring local procedures including personal protective equipment requirements where applicable.
Maintaincorrective-actiontracking and escalate unresolved risks according to applicable standards and timelines.
CTPAT AEO and Other WCO Program Requirements
Develop andmaintainworking knowledge ofExpeditorsparticipation in CTPAT and applicable local AEO or WCO programs.
Assistwith documentation and preparation for CTPAT/AEOvalidationvisits andrequiredpost-visit recaps.
Support activities connecting supply chain security requirements business resumption and the district Business Continuity Plan.
Training and Development
Coordinate and deliver designated security and environmental health and safety training activities as required or requested.
Delivers approved Facility Lockdown Orientation Trash Inspection training and other designated awareness programs as applicable.
Schedule orfacilitateexternal training sessions where applicable.
Participate in Security and Environmental Health and Safety conference calls and development activities asrequired.
Complete assigned trainer certification or facilitation development requirements within established timelines.
Complete assigned Securitydevelopment-mapand supply chain security training within established timelines.
Complete required environmental health and safety training andmaintaincurrent knowledge of applicable local requirements.
Job-Specific Competencies
Security and Safety Compliance Support:Maintainscompliance records supports district implementation of company standardsparticipatesin risk assessments tracks corrective actions and supports business continuity activities.
Local and Industry Requirements Expertise:Maintainsknowledge of applicable health and safety programs and security regulatory programs such as OSHA Safe Systems of Work CTPAT AEO EC300 TAPA and ACAS as relevant to district operations.
Incident Documentation and Follow-Up:Accurately documents incidents supports investigation activities tracks corrective actions and escalates concerns to theappropriate districtorregionalresource.
Security and Safety Systems Support:Maintainsassigned security and safety systems records and controls according to applicable requirements.
Service Provider Compliance Support:Assists with evaluations documentation and corrective-action follow-up to support Service Provider compliance with Expeditors standards.
Training Communication and Reporting:Maintainsaccuraterecords and metrics prepares reports supports training delivery and communicates requirements professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Effective written and verbal communication active listening presentation and English-languageproficiency.
Collaboration emotional intelligence adaptability initiative and the ability to influence without direct authority.
Analytical thinking problem solving strategic planning sound judgment and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate across departments and with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word.
Knowledge of Expeditors company policies and procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent required;Bachelorsdegree or relevant professional training preferred.
Two or more years of operational security compliance safety orlogisticsexperience preferred.
Ability to work off-site and use standard office equipment; duties are performed primarily while seated at a desk with facility assessments and operational activity asrequired.
Industry certifications such as Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) are beneficial but notrequired.
