SALARY: OS8: $48651 - 61309/year depending on previous experience in the same job within a school district

As we continue to expand and enrich our team we are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HR/Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources & Finance Team.
Position Overview:
The HR/Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in working with our team to ensure accurate and timely processing of a monthly payroll for our employees within the school district along with supporting our HR team processes. This position requires a high level of attention to detail strong organizational skills and a comprehensive understanding of payroll/HR processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to gather and input payroll data accurately address employee inquiries and stay updated on relevant payroll/HR laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Finalizies New Hires Employee Changes Termination in Absence Management
- Collect verify and process payroll data for all employees. Cross trained to be able to independently run a payroll.
- Accurately record and process stipends garnishments
- Updating HR webpage to post jobs manage job descriptions
- Scan Personnel Files
- Assist with Onboarding Verying EDUIDs Years of Experince Update CEU Credits/transcripts in Skyward Entering employee information into Skyward
- Process Tuition/Credit reimbursements
Compliance:
- Stay informed on federal and state payroll regulations tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Implement and maintain compliance with district policies and procedures.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports as required.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with Finance and other departments to obtain necessary payroll information.
- Address employee inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Reporting:
- Generate and analyze payroll reports to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Prepare reports for management as needed.
Technology Proficiency:
- Utilize payroll software and HR systems efficiently.
- Participate in system upgrades and enhancements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in using payroll software and Google/Microsoft Office applications. Skyward and Unified Talent knowledge is a plus!
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
