Distribution Roll Up Operator

Job Summary:

The purpose of the Roll Up Operator is to be responsible for rolling up finished rolls and assisting inspector in repairing of defects on finished goods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Discuss style and color with inspector. Ensure the carpet; ticket and digital roll number are the same. Required at every new roll.
• Pull/push rolls into Roll-up cradle
• Pull roll flap across the table floor (approximate: 24)
• Assist inspector of repairing goods (cut trim mark chalk etc.)
• Re-roll and wrap rolls
• Cut the finished roll at the required length stated in the CAMS system.
• Ensure finished roll is rolled straight and is void of wrinkles.
• Work with inspector ensure all CAMS entries are correct (seconds holds scrap).
• Ensure that when cutting the carpet waste is minimized.
• Cut banding from core bundle as needed.
• Monitor backing for defects.
• Keep area clean at all times.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Lifting is required a weight of 20 pounds 20 times per shift.
• Standing and walking approximately 8 hours per shift.
• Reaching is required approximately 50 times per shift.
• Stooping is required approximately 100 times per shift for approximately 10 second intervals.
• Bending is required in rolling carpet approximately 50 times per shift.
• Must be able to use scissors.
• Must be able to distinguish color and shades.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read and write
• Must be able to do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication

Other Requirements:

• Overtime is required on occasion.
• Must be able to identify yarn types on sight.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• All accidents must be reported immediately.
