WAREHOUSE TEAM LEAD

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Warehouse Team Leader role is one of the most demanding and important jobs in the site. You will have to balance and prioritize several tasks at once. A Team Leader is expected to lead by example. Their work ethic safety skills and aptitude for quality performance must far exceed that of other associates. They are the first layer of management and are expected to be representatives for the Prysmian Group in all actions and behaviors. They are responsible for setting the goals and expectations for their assigned team and will be responsible for holding their team accountable for meeting these goals. They should be mentors and trainers for everyone on their team and serve as the subject matter expert in all roles throughout the distribution center. They will be accountable for the overall success and development of team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee associates in either a particular function or a group of processes in the warehouse/distribution center
  • Promote health safety and quality initiatives within the entire workplace through LEAN concepts and events
  • Assist with shift planning task assignments and workflow coordination
  • Set performance goals in line with the management plan and take appropriate measures to achieve the expected results
  • Analyze and interpret performance data daily to ensure that corrective actions are implemented and sustained to support desired outcome
  • Coach and develop team members to enhance and sustain positive performance
  • Assist with conducting the performance assessments for team members following the annual schedule
  • Identify and implement disciplinary / corrective actions when warranted in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate efforts with group leads within the warehouse operations to meet/exceed labor goals OTD and other variable cost performance goals
  • Participate as a member of the First Responder Team
  • Participate in succession planning exercises for self and other team members supporting development and growth for their team

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability including coaching and mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability to promote safety and quality in the workplace
  • Ability to perform analytical assessment and interpretation of performance data
  • Ability to set and effectively manage changing priorities
  • Skilled in SAP and Microsoft Office 365 platforms
  • English: Proficient in reading writing and verbal communication
  • Ability to operate all machinery and equipment within the area of responsibility
  • Skilled in conflict resolution
  • Motivational and innovational leader who assumes responsibility and can influence others in a positive manner
