Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies as may be required regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The Director Supply ChainContractingprovideslegal supportforDePuySynthesglobal supply chaincontracting activities. This role is accountablefor driving consistency in contract termscomplying withsupply chain contracting policiessupportingandassistingsupply chain partners in contract negotiations and drafting agreements advisingon supplierdisputesand advising on supply chainstrategies.The position partners closely with Supply Chain Procurement QualityandFinanceto ensure contracts are compliant scalable and aligned with businessobjectivesin a highly regulated medicaldeviceand medical technologyenvironment. This role hasa significantimpact on operational performance cost management and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Supply Chain to negotiate terms of complex supply chain agreements includingraw material supplymanufacturinglogistics distribution and service agreements.
Advisethe businesson contractualrisk andcollaborate with supply chain professionals toenable resilient supply strategies.
Manage the drafting and negotiation of complex supplychainagreements associated with the above Supply Chain organizations including master supply and external manufacturing agreements.
Provide guidance and advice to the members of the Contract Management Organization who collaborate in supporting the contracting workstream forsupply chain activities.
Drive adherence to good contracting processsimplification and improvement of templatescreation and adoption of contracting aids (such as playbooks)acceptance of prudent risk takingand by proactively spotting common issues and trends that need addressing through change.
AdviseSupply Chain leaderson proposedlaws andregulations that have a high impact on current and future supply chain activities(e.g.import/export trade controls govt. incentives for local manufacturing supply chain shortages).
Together with Litigation colleaguesadvisethe business on disputes and litigation arising under supply agreements or otherwise with suppliers under purchase orders or othersupply arrangements.
Provide review of supply agreements in connection with due diligence on mergersacquisitionsor strategic partnerships.
Oversee management of outside counsel relationships workflow and budget.
Collaborate with legal colleagues to proactively assess and manage legal risk for the end-to-end supply chain worldwide. Coordinating legal support on any complex issues byworkingclosely with other functional groups.
Qualifications
Education
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school in the U.S.
Admitted to practice in at least one U.S.jurisdictionor inGreat Britain or Ireland for candidates working in those countries.
Experience and Skills
Typically requiresa minimum of8-10 yearsofcommercial contractingexperience.
Provenexpertisenegotiating and managing complex highvalue supply chain contracts in-house at a multi-national corporation or at a large or mid-sized reputable law firm.
Strong understanding of supply chain operations supplier riskmanagementcontractingprinciplesand excellent drafting skills.
Solution and business-oriented team player with an ability to take a pragmatic approach to solving problems.
Strong interpersonalskills abilityto lead throughinfluenceand to challenge the statusquo.
Comfortable handling ambiguity and ability to simplify complicated issues for clients.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders andoperateeffectively in acomplexglobal organization.
Preferred
Experience in medicaldevicemedtechpharmaceuticalorthopedicshealthcareor otherhighlyregulated manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and supply chain digital platforms.
Experience with software and other technology supply agreements a plus.
Track recordof driving process standardization or transformation initiatives.
Strong executive presence with the ability to leadcomplexnegotiations.

$150000.00 - $258750.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans employees are eligible to participate in the Companys consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Companys long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado 48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay including Floating Holidays 13 days per calendar year
Work Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
