Director, Pipeline Commercialization Strategy Oncology

Job Summary
This leadership position is accountable for delivering overall commercial strategy of theÂ
PCS oncology assets by partnering closely with R&D in-line commercial in USÂ
international region and countries and other key stakeholders to plan for theÂ
commercialization of assets in the Oncology pipeline thereby delivering successful globalÂ
product launches within the portfolio in oncology.
Responsibilities:
Develop champion and communicate vision and overall compelling strategy to allÂ
related stakeholder groups gaining commitment and support to guide portfolioÂ
prioritization asset strategies and BD investments.
Understand market key segment value drivers growth opportunities target productÂ
profiles product positioning and revenue potential for multiple clinical-stage
assets/indications within the franchise to drive winning portfolio value propositionÂ
plans and strong P&L investment thesis
(Co)-lead tumor disease are strategy teams for development of multiple assetsÂ
within same tumor when applicable with enterprise and portfolio mindset
Defines and drives strategic value creation across lifecycle together with R&D andÂ
commercial cross-functional partners integrating diverse internal and externalÂ
perspectives
Partner with Global Medical Affairs Pharma Development and Commercial Crossfunctional leaders to develop scientific platforms and drive data generation toÂ
satisfy Global and Area requirements for target product labels and target productÂ
claims.Â
Identify new value generation for the franchise to unlock further opportunity. DriveÂ
innovative and novel ways to accelerate commercialization and maximize value forÂ
patients and the company for the franchise
Drive prioritization of key leverage points in the treatment process and developÂ
behavioral objectives for each stakeholder group to define commercial strategy forÂ
the assets and for the entire franchise
Effective and transparent risk opportunity and issue management at strategic andÂ
operational levels across the franchise
Initiate geo-strategy and indication prioritization within the franchise in partnershipÂ
with R&D Commercial cross-functional leaders and Affiliates on formulatingÂ
optimal reimbursement and access strategies to fully realize value of multipleÂ
assets.
Exhibit clear and courageous leadership behavior and implements optimal programÂ
structures where appropriate to drive timely and effective decision making
Broaden AbbVies Oncology network and presence by building scientific academicÂ
KOL payer and patient advocacy relationships.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree; advanced degree (MBA Ph.D or MD) preferred
10-15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in progressiveÂ
commercial leadership roles in marketing and/or sales. Recency of P&L ownershipÂ
is preferred in US or other major markets Successful launch experienced preferred
Managed care experience preferred
Oncology therapeutic experience preferred
Global experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to influence and manage a complex set of internal andÂ
external stakeholders.
Strong strategic marketing skills including the ability to develop commercialÂ
strategies based on a thorough and structured approach pared with a strongÂ
scientific/clinical understanding.
Strong financial and commercial acumen with thorough understanding of P&LÂ
drivers and the ability to develop appropriate investment and top-line salesÂ
forecasts that generate long-term value.
Strong executive presence and leadership skills are imperative as this leader willÂ
present to senior leaders on a regular basis and serve as a role model in theÂ
organization.
Demonstrated and consistent experience in successfully leading organizationalÂ
change.
Outstanding partnering skills and the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team andÂ
drive commercial decisions in a highly matrixed organization to accomplishÂ
business goals.
Proven track record of successful leadership management and coaching of teamsÂ
and individuals and in having developed talent.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.Â
