Job Summary
Overview/Function: The Director of Warehouse Operations provides both strategic and tactical direction of warehouse activities ensuring efficient product movement. They oversee product supply movement throughout the warehouse environment working with Sales Inventory Planning and Delivery teams to ensure timely product availability and accurate delivery.
They act as a mentor and coach to the team and ensure adherence to all established safety procedures and policies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies and lead projects to ensure efficient functionality and maximize warehouse space and equipment.
- Perform analysis and drive warehouse performance results.
- Direct responsibility for all Operational Metrics and Warehouse P&L.
- Proactively work towards continuous improvement strategies to maximize the productivity and efficiencies of the warehouse process and warehouse product flow. Creates action plans to address performance issues.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (sales inventory planning and delivery) to ensure accurate and timely product delivery.
- Direct employee management responsibilities include but not limited to recruitment selection training performance management/coaching motivation discipline and management/supervisory personnel development.
- Provide effective employee motivation and coaching and effectively resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Cultivate and support a strong safety culture by developing and leading all safety regulations throughout the facility(s).
- Develop measurable team goals action plans and timelines.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for department.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with at least 10 years of warehouse management/operational experience required. Other related experiences will be considered. Previous personnel supervisory experience required.
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities. Must have strong problem resolution and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer and MS Office experience are required including Word Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent team-player and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to effectively interact and collaborate with multiple departments.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight and proactively seek out value-added opportunities.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations.
- Ability to directly supervise and motivate as well as delegate to others in a team-based work culture.
- Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.

- Regular consistent attendance is an essential job function.
Additional:
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
- At times this position will be very active in a warehouse environment requiring occasionally lifting and/or moving items up to 30-75 lbs. (Moving equipment and tools are provided to reduce strains and injury.)
- Standing walking twisting grasping reaching pushing pulling bending kneeling sitting stooping crouching crawling and climbing will be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The warehouse environment temperatures are unregulated and dependent upon outdoor temperatures. The climate can be noisy with an active environment.
- The role is focused on weekdays (Monday-Friday) however some evening and weekend work may be required.
