Summary
The Director of Nursing oversees the administration of nursing services in accordance with current federal state and local standards guidelines and regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Support nursing best practices and objectives and participate in their ongoing evaluation and improvement to ensure high-quality resident care.
* Develop short- and long-range plans for nursing operations and services.
* Ensure nursing interventions meet each residents personal physical and cognitive needs while maximizing independence choice identity self-care abilities and social engagement.
* Participate in admission decisions to ensure resident needs align with available nursing capabilities and resources.
* Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for residents employees and visitors through oversight of safety and maintenance functions.
* Ensure treatments are administered appropriately and in accordance with care plans.
* Oversee medication and medical supply management including proper storage control and inventory levels.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
* 3 5 years of nursing supervisory experience providing direct care to multiple patients or residents preferred.
* Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing environment preferred.
* Nursing degree from an accredited college preferred; graduation from an approved RN program required.
* Current unrestricted RN license in Colorado required.
* Current CPR certification required.
* Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing environment preferred.
