Director of Nursing (DON)

Schedule:

  • Full-Time Salaried Position
  • Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • Flexible availability required for operational needs
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend support as needed
  • On-call rotation required for clinical and administrative matters

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership for all hospice operations ensuring high-quality safe and consistent patient care
  • Oversee clinical departments including home care admissions education and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with all federal state certification licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Lead mentor and supervise clinical managers and directors across the organization
  • Collaborate with leadership on staffing scheduling and operational planning
  • Participate in budgeting financial oversight and resource allocation for clinical services
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives staff education and professional development programs
  • Serve as a clinical expert role model and advocate for patient-centered care
  • Support staff retention engagement and performance management strategies
  • Step in for senior clinical leadership responsibilities when needed

Requirements:

  • Active unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Georgia
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field preferred (Masters degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of senior-level management experience required
  • At least 3 years of hospice experience required
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and compliance standards
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Strong organizational communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with budgeting operations and performance management preferred
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required
