Job Summary

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations staff development patient care quality regulatory compliance and departmental performance within a highly specialized cardiac critical care environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in CVICU nursing and have the ability to provide bedside support when necessary to ensure optimal patient care and staffing coverage. This individual will lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients requiring advanced cardiovascular interventions and critical care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee daily operations of the CVICU department.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe high quality evidence-based patient care.
  • Provide leadership mentorship and performance management for nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals policies and procedures.
  • Monitor staffing levels and provide clinical support during staffing shortages or high census periods.
  • Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory accreditation and organizational standards.
  • Manage department budgets resource allocation and operational efficiency.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
  • Support staff recruitment retention orientation and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Effective September 1 2019 candidates without a BSN must be actively enrolled in an accredited BSN program with a documented completion date.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or an RN license recognized by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent CVICU nursing experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of nursing leadership or management experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire.
Hours:
  • Full Time - 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
