Job Summary

Provides leadership of the Universitys Labor Relations function in support of the Employee and Labor Relations Directorate. Provides labor and employee relations direction support and expertise to the Universitys Operations and Academic divisions. Lead negotiator for certain labor contracts and will help direct and to drive the strategic and administrative initiatives with respect to the labor relations function for the University community including routine interface with internal partners and external entities such as the U.S. National Labor Relations Board the American Arbitration Association and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service on behalf of the University.

Required Skills

Expertise in all aspects of labor relations is required. Juris doctorate is depth substantive knowledge of the NLRA with respect to represented and non-represented employee settings is required as well as a full understanding of all of the rights of the employer and employee with respect to the NLRA and other major labor and employment laws governing large private institutions of higher education.

Three to five years of progressively responsible labor and employment experience is required including experience supporting or leading collective bargaining negotiations.
