As Director of Human Resources you will serve as a key member of the Core Leadership Team (CLT) partnering with leaders across the organization to shape workplace culture develop talent drive employee engagement and support strategic organizational goals. This role is ideal for a collaborative and forward-thinking HR leader who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on support and values building strong relationships throughout the organization.

What You Will Do
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all human resources functions including recruitment onboarding employee relations performance management compensation benefits training and development retention compliance and workforce planning.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Core Leadership Team in developing organizational goals initiatives and people-focused strategies.

  • Lead recruitment and retention efforts to attract develop and retain a talented and engaged workforce.

  • Coach and support managers on employee relations performance management leadership development and workplace culture.

  • Oversee employee engagement staff development recognition wellness and retention initiatives.

  • Develop and implement HR policies procedures and programs that support organizational goals while ensuring compliance with applicable laws regulations and accreditation standards.

  • Partner with leadership to develop competitive compensation benefits and wellness programs.

  • Monitor workforce metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and organizational growth.

  • Manage workers compensation administration risk management initiatives and required HR records and reporting.

  • Develop and manage the Human Resources budget and departmental priorities.

  • Supervise the Employee Engagement and Staff Development Specialist and provide leadership support to wellness-related initiatives.

  • Participate in system-wide committees and collaborate with colleagues across The Kendal Corporation network.

  • Serve in the Manager-On-Duty rotation including occasional evenings weekends and holidays.

  • Be comfortable working with and supporting the senior population and maintain professionalism and respect for confidentiality while working in a senior living environment.

  • Perform other related work as required.

What You Bring
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Organizational Leadership or a related field required.

  • Minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience required.

  • Experience leading multiple HR functions including employee relations recruitment compliance compensation benefits and organizational development.

  • Strong knowledge of federal state and local employment laws and HR best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders build relationships and foster a positive workplace culture.

  • Strong communication presentation and writing skills.

  • Ability to analyze data solve problems and make sound business decisions.

  • Masters degree and/or SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

  • Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation.

Physical Requirements
  • Work primarily in an office environment with regular use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Frequently move throughout the campus to attend meetings support employees and participate in organizational activities.
  • Occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person by phone and in writing.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings weekends and holidays as required including participation in the Manager-On-Duty rotation.
  • Occasional travel to Kendal Corporation meetings conferences training programs and other Kendal communities.
