POSITION SUMMARY

  • Under the direction of the Executive Director of Operations the Ground Director is responsible for all facilities on and off campus pertaining to all grounds work and repair and will adhere to all safety practices.
  • Managing all grounds work on campus

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification)

  • Manage student workers
  • Manage all grounds work on campus and off campus
  • Maintain all grounds equipment.
  • Mowing
  • Trimming
  • Landscaping
  • Supervise tracks and trails.
  • Support campus events.
  • Snow removal
  • Complete small work orders
  • Watering plants
  • Campus trash
  • Leaf removal/tree trimming.
  • Plant flowers
  • Setting up Christmas lights
  • Assist Athletic Department in treatment and care of sports fields.
  • Assist outside contractors as needed.
  • Be available for evening/weekend as need arises.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

According to Ohio Christian University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement.

  • Education Training and Experience:
    • Associates Degree required
    • Bachelors Degree preferred
    • Experience with working grounds
    • Experience managing/directing
  • Skill and Ability to:
    • Knowledge of use of grounds equipment
