CONTACT INFORMATION:Human Resources or SUMMARY/SCOPE: The Director of Financial Aid oversees all aspects offederal state and institutional student aid programs which includesscholarships grants loans and the work-study program. This position isresponsible for ensuring compliance in all aid programs. The Director providesleadership for planning managing and evaluating personnel programs andbudgets while ensuring timely sensitive and accurate delivery of financialaid to students in a highly regulated environment. The Director is also responsiblefor submitting accurate financial aid reports as required by federal stateand institutional agencies and supporting customer-oriented services tostudents and to the campus community. BASICRESPONSIBILITIES: Manage financial aid staff which includesannual performance reviews ensuring staff are trained and following policiesand procedures; manage the implementation and maintenance of institutionalfinancial aid programs; plans organization goals objectives and strategicinitiatives; prepares reviews and approves a variety of reports on thefederal state and institutional levels; develop and maintain internal andexternal relationships which includes participation in a variety of meetingsand committees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:These examples do not include all possibletasks & do not limit the assignment of related tasks. Supervise hire support train and evaluate all financialaid staff. Develop and implement plans and objectives regarding titleIV institutional aid and student service. Responsible for all access/user accounts for FSA websites(COD NSLDS FAAAccess) Present financial aid presentations during preview events Ensure compliance within all aid programs (federal stateand institutional) Process professional judgement appeals (EFC/SAI COA andDependency). Manage academic scholarship adjustments when requested byAdmission/Recruiting. Complete SAP evaluations at the end of each term. Process SAP appeals. Review R2T4 files monthly. Update degree audit process for each payment period(November and April). Edit financial aid pages on the website as needed. Sign off on all check requests. Attend meetings as needed (ES Directors Care TeamStudent Services & Systems Team Staff Senate Student Financial ServicesRNL). Approve or deny Financial Aid appeals (financial andacademic). Facilitate Colleague processes changes as needed andcomplete system setups each year. Analyze and create reports to administration as requested(BOT BOD weekly FA reports). Review monthly reconciliations (Pell direct loan workstudy private loans TEG and SEOG). Serve HSU as the project manager for annual UniformGuidance audit. Submit and/or oversee external reports (FAD FISAP NCAAetc.). Set up net price calculator annually. Oversee all state and federal/state/institutionalbudgets/allocations. Oversee all Financial Aid Office mass communication tostudents (monthly comm flow). Organize all Financial Aid Office events. Manage the Tuition Exchange and Christlieb programs. Oversee the HSU Financial Literacy Program. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise (4-5) Full Time Staff in addition to student workers. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully an individualshould have knowledge ofWord Processing software;Spreadsheetsoftware;Order processing systems;Internet software. Databasesoftware experience preferred. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. At least 5 years of experience in a Financial Aid Officepreferred. Skills in student database management system preferred(Colleague/Ellucian experience preferred). Evidence of maturity in interpersonal relationshipsespecially in conflict management exceptional customer service commitment andprofessionalism required.
