Bridge Brothers is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and continue building our engineering organization.

This is not simply a technical leadership role.

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for the overall performance of the engineering departmentincluding people processes quality execution technology and continuous improvement.

Youll work directly with executive leadership to build a scalable engineering organization capable of supporting the companys continued growth while remaining closely connected to the technical side of the business.

• Lead develop and grow the engineering department.
• Recruit hire mentor and retain high-performing engineers and designers.

• Own engineering department performance capacity planning workload balancing and resource allocation.
• Develop scalable engineering processes workflows standards and documentation.
• Implement and improve QA/QC procedures design review processes and engineering best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality efficiency and project execution.
• Evaluate and implement new engineering tools software automation and technology.

• Provide executive oversight of structural engineering activities across custom steel bridge projects.
• Guide engineers through complex technical challenges and major design decisions.
• Review critical engineering calculations designs and technical deliverables.
• Ensure engineering solutions are practical constructable and aligned with fabrication and field operations.
• Maintain technical involvement by providing guidance reviewing critical engineering decisions and supporting the team on complex challenges while empowering engineers to own day-to-day project execution.

• Partner closely with detailing fabrication construction project management procurement and executive leadership.
• Improve communication and collaboration across departments.
• Support estimating and business development with technical guidance during project pursuits.
• Remove operational bottlenecks that impact engineering performance or project delivery.

• Establish the long-term vision for the engineering organization.
• Develop KPIs and performance metrics that drive accountability and operational excellence.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability through engineering innovation standardization and process improvements.
• Help position the engineering department for future growth as the company continues to scale.

• Bachelors degree in Civil Structural Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10 years of engineering experience within bridges structural steel heavy civil industrial manufacturing transportation energy marine or other engineered steel environments.
• Previous experience leading engineering teams departments or engineering operations.
• Demonstrated success developing engineers improving processes and building high-performing teams.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering steel design fabrication and construction practices.
• Experience managing engineering resources across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong leadership communication organization and decision-making skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.

Bridge experience is beneficial but not required. We welcome leaders from structural steel industrial manufacturing heavy civil commercial structures transportation energy or other complex structural engineering environments.
