Director of Engineering
Description: The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading firms engineering organization and driving the strategy design development and lifecycle management of the companys sensing controls and industrial product portfolio. This role provides leadership for new product development engineering execution electrical product design oversight and technical project management while partnering with executive leadership sales operations quality and manufacturing teams to align product initiatives with customer needs business objectives and market opportunities. The Director of Engineering oversees projects from concept through commercialization ensuring innovation operational excellence and the successful delivery of products that support the companys long-term growth.

Salary: $125000 - $150000 annually based on experience
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the engineering organization establishing priorities processes and performance expectations.
Drive the strategy design development and lifecycle management of new and existing products.
Provide technical leadership and oversight for the design development testing and validation of analog and digital electronic products ensuring performance reliability compliance and manufacturability.
Own the engineering project portfolio ensuring alignment with business objectives customer needs budgets and timelines.
Lead cross-functional teams across engineering manufacturing quality sourcing sales and operations to successfully execute product initiatives.
Oversee new product development efforts from concept through commercialization including design reviews validation and launch activities.
Direct continuous improvement initiatives focused on product performance reliability manufacturability compliance and cost optimization.
Establish and maintain engineering standards product development processes and project management practices.
Manage engineering resources project schedules risks and priorities while communicating progress and key metrics to executive leadership.
Collaborate with customers suppliers and strategic partners to identify opportunities define requirements and support product innovation.
Oversee product lifecycle management engineering change processes obsolescence planning and regulatory compliance activities.
Evaluate emerging technologies electronic components market trends and competitive products to support long-term product strategy and business growth.
Serve as a key member of the leadership team contributing to strategic planning and organizational development.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering or related electrical engineering discipline required.
7 years of progressive electrical engineering and product development experience in controls sensing HVAC or industrial electronic product environments.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional engineering projects product development initiatives or technical programs. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
Demonstrated success leading new product development programs from concept through commercialization.
Strong background in product design product lifecycle management and engineering project management.
Experience developing engineering roadmaps managing project portfolios and leading cross-functional teams.
Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics sensing technologies controls HVAC systems and industrial electronic products.
Experience with PLM systems ERP systems engineering change processes and design tools such as SolidWorks.
Strong leadership communication organizational and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to balance technical requirements customer needs business objectives timelines and budgets.
