Job Summary:
Our office inRoanoke VAis seeking aDirector ofElectrical Engineeringto lead a fast-paced multi-discipline team. Our Electrical Engineers focus primarily on the design of building-related projects including healthcare higher educational facilities large commercial projects and local government projects using Revit and AutoCAD software.
General Duties:
- Lead supervise provide guidance and training to a team of engineers
- Develop electrical system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
- Provide engineering design evaluation and planning of electrical systems for a variety of market types
- Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing electrical systems
- Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
- Write and edit project specifications
- Prepare detailed design documents reports and studies
- Perform code compliance research
- Coordinate work with other disciplines
- Provide construction administration services
- Perform QA/QC of design work
- Serve as the primary contact for clients
- Assist in the procurement of new work including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Engineering Technology or related field
- 10 years of experience in electrical design
- PE License preferred
- Familiarity with codes standards and design guidelines
- Hands-on experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD REVIT MS Office and engineering calculation and performance simulation software
- Team management experience (preferred)

- Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlines
- A positive attitude with colleagues and clients
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Location: Roanoke VA
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $100000 - $145000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills experience qualifications and location.
