Job Summary

Director of Digital Learning and Technology

LOCATION:

Nauset Public Schools

DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT

OF POSITION:

The Director of Digital Learning and Technology will provide dynamic responsive collaborative and forward-thinking leadership for digital learning instructional technology and technology systems operations and services to support the mission and goals of the Nauset Regional School District. This includes planning developing implementing and managing technology initiatives applications infrastructure cybersecurity training and digital learning systems while advancing the effective educational use of technology across the district. The Director will support high-quality teaching and learning through professional development for staff and stakeholders and strengthen the integration of digital tools into instruction and operations.

Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning

SUPERVISES:

Chief Network Officer; Building-Based Technology Coordinators; Technology Department Team Members

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Full-Time/Twelve (12) Months; Multi-year contract

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Leadership and Strategic Planning

  • Provide districtwide leadership for digital learning instructional technology technology systems and related initiatives aligned with Nausets Strategic Plan.
  • Ensure that information technology and information systems are planned implemented maintained monitored and evaluated to support school operations and student instruction.
  • Maintain and execute the districts Evergreen Technology Plan and coordinate the completion and implementation of the PreK12 Technology Integration Plan.
  • Stay informed on current research emerging technologies and best practices in digital learning educational technology and artificial intelligence.
  • Partner with the Chief Network Officer to ensure technology infrastructure network systems cybersecurity practices device management and districtwide technology operations are aligned reliable secure and responsive to district needs.

Digital Learning and Professional Development

  • Support the effective integration of digital tools into instruction communication operations and districtwide digital learning initiatives.
  • Provide professional development coaching and ongoing support to staff and stakeholders to build confidence consistency and effective use of digital tools and systems.
  • Partner with the Nauset Leadership Team Technology Integration Specialists Digital Learning Team district staff and external organizations to align technology planning instructional priorities and professional learning.
  • Attend and represent Nauset at School Committee meetings district and school-level meetings state conferences and other events related to the role.

Technology Operations and Compliance

  • Manage workflow assignments and priorities within the technology department to ensure timely support clear communication and smooth daily operations.
  • Oversee the accuracy maintenance and timely updating of district information systems including student information systems and ensure all required state reporting is completed in compliance with DESE requirements and district timelines.
  • Plan manage and administer technology initiatives applications infrastructure cybersecurity multimedia telecommunications and digital learning systems.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of technology equipment systems programs and related resources.
  • Advise district leadership staff and the School Committee on technology policy systems and related operational needs.
  • Review data privacy agreements terms permissions and user access for digital learning software and applications to ensure compliance with district policies operating guidelines and applicable privacy laws.

Fiscal Management Procurement and Resource Development

  • Develop and manage the technology department budget ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Manage purchasing inventory surplus and procurement processes for technology equipment systems software hardware and related services.
  • Negotiate with vendors regarding contracts pricing implementation and services.
  • Investigate pursue and manage technology-related grant opportunities.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certification

  • Masters degree or higher in Educational Administration Educational Leadership or a related field preferred.
  • Massachusetts Director Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent or Supervisor/Director licensure preferred.
  • Valid Massachusetts teaching license in an area relevant to this position preferred.

Experience

  • Related experience in education technology or a related field.
  • District and/or school administration experience preferred.
  • Successful experience and leadership in administering information data processing systems Student Information Systems and multimedia resources.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication organization problem-solving and project management skills. Ability to attend and present information effectively to the School Committee leadership and staff.
  • Operational Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and ensure compliance with state and district requirements. Knowledge of digital learning instructional technology technology integration technology infrastructure cybersecurity device management and information systems.
  • Compliance & Data Literacy: Knowledge of student information systems data privacy user access and DESE and state reporting requirements. Knowledge of commonly used educational technology tools digital learning platforms and instructional applications.
  • Fiscal Literacy: Ability to manage budgets procurement inventory contracts and grants.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead districtwide technology planning digital learning initiatives and provide professional development coaching and staff support.
  • Legal Requirements: Citizenship residency or work visa required.

SALARY:

$140000.00 - $150000.00
