Position Summary:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Athletic Communications to lead and manage all communication efforts for our athletic department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports communications media relations and strategic messaging to enhance the visibility and reputation of our athletic programs.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for the athletic department.
- Serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson for athletic events and initiatives.
- Manage all press releases media guides social media content and promotional materials.
- Coordinate interviews press conferences and media appearances for coaches and student-athletes.
- Collaborate with coaches staff and administration to ensure consistent messaging.
- Oversee the athletic departments digital presence including website content and social media channels.
- Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports on communication effectiveness.
- Lead and mentor the athletic communications team to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Sports Management or a related field required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in athletic communications sports information or a related field with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of athletic communications media relations digital content creation and social media platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with content management systems and other communication tools.
- Active member of a local church with a commitment to Oklahoma Christian Universitys mission and Christian values.
