Job Summary
The Director of Accounting will lead an accounting management team directly supervise two Controllers overseeing a staff of 20 accountants and partner closely with the SVP of Financial Operations on strategic initiatives operational improvements and departmental direction.
This is far more than a traditional close the books accounting role.
The company is looking for someone who can:
Lead and develop high-performing accounting teams
Drive accountability operational efficiency and process improvement
Standardize workflows and improve reporting through data and analytics
Navigate complex financial conversations with boards and leadership teams
Serve as a technical accounting resource across the organization
Help scale systems controls reporting and accounting operations
Partner cross-functionally with operations IT training and business development teams
Additional areas of responsibility include:
Oversight of monthly financial reporting and reviews
Managing complex multi-entity accounting environments
Supporting audits internal controls and SSAE-18 / SOC compliance
Leading accounting integrations for acquisitions
Developing KPIs dashboards and departmental metrics
Driving technology enhancements and accounting system improvements
Coaching and mentoring Controllers and accounting staff
Ideal background:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
5 years of accounting leadership experience
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
Advanced Excel skills including Power Query macros pivot tables and large data analysis
Experience leading teams
CPA preferred
