Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Nursing Perioperative Services at St. Josephs Medical Center you will be a central figure providing strategic leadership and comprehensive operational oversight for all aspects of our operating rooms post-anesthesia care units (PACU) and related surgical areas ensuring the delivery of safe efficient and high-quality surgical care. You will play a vital role in optimizing patient outcomes and enhancing the overall surgical experience.

Every day you will work with Sr. Leadership on strategy and key initiatives and work with front-line leaders in Perioperative Services to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast paced environments. You will advise medical staff other department heads and administrators in matters related to patient care clinical best practices and strategies. You will communicate the organizations goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional care.

To be successful in this role you will need to be an experienced leader with a track record of success overseeing surgical services for an acute-care Hospital. You must be competent and confident with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Masters degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g. MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience required.
Required Licensure:
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
