Job Summary

Job Summary

Supervises and performs technical work planning and executing the Landscape Operations program of the Duval County School Board. Ensure landscape maintenance of district facilities.

Essential Functions

1. Directs activities of the various crafts of the Maintenance Landscape Department in conjunction with School Maintenance.
2. Leads directs and manages Landscape department: recruits selects orients trains coaches counsels and disciplines staff. Plans monitors appraises and reviews staff job contributions to planning development delivery follow-up and evaluation of Landscape operations.
3. Provides and monitors management reports on costs landscape maintenance backlog preventative landscape maintenance projected facility and equipment repairs and makes recommendations for corrective actions as required.
4. Analyzes maintenance requirements plans and procedures and estimates man-hours and material requirements. Coordinates overlapping activities and evaluates results of maintenance activities both as to quantity and quality of production.
5. Write specifications for Landscape contracted services; inspects work for compliance with specifications; and reviews work production for efficiency and economy of operations.
6. Inspects schools to determine scope and priority of work to be accomplished by Maintenance Landscape Department personnel.
7. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies regarding health safety and environmental practices.
8. Responds to inquiries or concerns from district staff.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelors Degree preferred from an accredited college or university. Experience can be substituted for post-secondary education with a required high school diploma or GED.

Experience: Five (5) years experience managing supervising and/or coordinating a broad variety of facility maintenance repair and construction functions and projects. Experience with a large complex service organization with multiple facilities preferred.

  • Knowledge in maintenance and landscape procedures

Required Experience:
