The Director serves as the instructional leader and primary student services coordinator for the JC/LISD Academy. Responsibilities are divided approximately equally between school leadership and counseling services supporting school operations student achievement staff supervision and school improvement while helping students achieve their academic career and postsecondary goals through collaboration with families staff local districts colleges and community partners.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Masters degree in educational leadership School Counseling or related field.
Valid Michigan School Counselor License or Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement.
Minimum five years of successful educational experience including teaching counseling or educational leadership.
Preferred:
Experience with Early College Middle College Dual Enrollment Career and Technical Education or Postsecondary Partnerships.
Experience in both educational leadership and student counseling.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS
Valid Michigan teaching certificate
Applicable administrative certification or eligibility to obtain appropriate administrative certification.
