Job Summary
The Director coordinates and strengthens the District Attorneys interaction and relationship with city state and federal levels of government elected officials and outside agencies and coordinates our efforts regarding policy considerations affecting the Queens District Attorneys Office
Responsibilities:
Legislation:
- Serve as an office-wide resource for pending and enacted criminal justice related bills and provide periodic legislative updates to the District Attorney and office staff
- Prepare a mid-year and annual legislative report for officewide distribution
- Prepare reports on bills of interest and monitor legislation of particular concern or interest
- Monitor notices of criminal justice related hearings at state and city levels make recommendations regarding participation and prepare/coordinate written testimony on behalf of the District Attorney
- Supervise the production of QDAs Brave Justice Annual Report and assist in coordination of annual Legislative Breakfast meeting
Policy Initiatives and Protocols:
- Assist with the implementation of new protocols and projects at the request of the District Attorney and the Chief Assistant
- Conduct research on policy issues to advance the District Attorneys agenda
Interagency Coordination:
- Serve as point of contact for outside offices and agencies
- Serve on various interagency committees as required
- Prepare briefings for the District Attorneys meetings/events
- Assist elected officials and their staff with constituent concerns
Qualifications:
- Must be an attorney with at least ten years supervisory or management experience
- Should have felony trial experience as a prosecutor and experience collaborating with law enforcement and other governmental agencies.
- Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess thorough understanding of the prosecutors obligations.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Range $139000 to $202731
