Job Summary
Orbis is seeking a motivated and accomplished Director Growth & Capture with a passion for winning and a proven record of developing compliant compelling proposals across the full capture lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in capture strategy proposal development and competitive positioning in support of Intelligence Community (IC) customers including LPO. A successful candidate excels at shaping and positioning activities developing winning proposal narratives coordinating color team reviews and delivering high-quality written products on time. Candidates must be able to work from a classified office in the Reston/Herndon VA area and attend meetings with NCR customers industry partners and Orbis HQ in McLean VA.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead capture strategy and proposal development for all assigned opportunities from qualification through award
- Execute all positioning activities required to win including productive teaming innovative solutioning thorough gap analysis and competitive price-to-win strategies
- Author and coordinate RFIs white papers unsolicited proposals and marketing materials aligned to customer requirements
- Write structure and manage compliant and compelling proposal volumes ensuring responsiveness to all RFP requirements
- Drive and participate in all color team reviews (Pink Red Gold and White Glove) incorporating feedback to improve proposal quality
- Collaborate with program managers SMEs and business leaders to develop validate and refine proposal content and technical solutions
- Leverage AI tools and content management processes to improve proposal efficiency quality and consistency
- Review and edit all proposal content for clarity consistency compliance and alignment with customer evaluation criteria
- Monitor classified acquisition sites to track opportunity status and maintain awareness of RFP timelines and requirements
- Analyze competitive intelligence to inform capture strategy and differentiate Orbis approach in proposals
- Serve as the primary capture and proposal point of contact for Orbis senior leadership and teaming partners on all assigned opportunities
- Develop and implement process improvements to continuously raise the quality and consistency of Orbis proposals
Required Skills & Abilities
- Minimum of 10 years of capture management and proposal development experience supporting Intelligence Community customers including LPO
- Bachelors degree required; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required
- Extensive experience supporting federal government capture and proposal efforts with a strong track record of wins
- Demonstrated success across the full capture lifecycle: identify qualify capture propose and win
- Proven proposal management and writing experience including volume leadership and color team facilitation
- Exceptional writing editing and proofreading skills with rigorous attention to compliance and detail
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear compelling customer-focused narratives
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously
- Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Desired Skills & Abilities
- Masters degree preferred but not required
- Formal training or certification in capture management or proposal writing (e.g. APMP Shipley)
- Experience with proposal automation or AI-assisted writing tools
- Familiarity with IC acquisition processes and procurement vehicles
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Participation in virtual and in-person meetings
- Ability to attend planned meetings and work in classified space for extended periods within the Washington Metro Area region
