Job Summary

Leads develops and provides administrative oversight and supervision of the GEAR UP Project in a seven-year effort to increase the awareness of and readiness for opportunities in post-secondary education for students who might not otherwise be aware of those opportunities.

Essential Functions

1. Serves as the district lead for implementation and ongoing management to ensure effective delivery of the GEAR UP program and serves as the primary contact for the US Department of Education.
2. Leads the GEAR UP program staff including recruitment selection and supervising staff; holding weekly Management Team meetings and overseeing staff activities.
3. Supervises efforts of GEAR UP program partners including monitoring sub-awardees and managing the bimonthly Advisory Council meetings.
4. Serves as lead program contact for schools and oversees school buy-in efforts.
5. Monitors and supervises project evaluation activities to ensure appropriateness to project goals and objectives and timely completion of all evaluation tasks. Works closely with independent evaluator to support evaluation needs and also monitors progress.
6. Reports project status to local media the GEAR UP Oversight Committee and other stakeholders and ensures implementation of Committee recommendations for project amendments.
7. Maintains project records and completes and submits district state and federal agency reports. Manages and is accountable for all project finances.
8. Leads sustainability planning efforts and pursues scholarship and other incentive support throughout the Jacksonville community including fundraising activities and solicitations from business religious and civic leaders.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Masters degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Seven (7) years of project management educational leadership or process mapping experience. Demonstrated successful budget management experience preferred.
