Job Summary

Anderson Universitys Office of Student Development invites applications for a full-time 12-month position as Director First-Year Experience and Orientation. The Director of First-Year Experience (FYE) provides strategic leadership for engaging high-impact programs that support new students throughout their first year. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Development this role oversees a comprehensive First-Year Experience that includes Base Camp Orientation Welcome Week and ongoing co-curricular initiatives designed to challenge support and connect students. The Director collaborates closely with campus partners including Student Activities Admissions Alumni and academic leadership to ensure a seamless and meaningful transition into university life. This position leads the planning and execution of all orientation programs across multiple terms managing logistics marketing registration budgets and student staff. The Director also plays an active role in first-year programming by supporting and teaching within the AU 101 course recruiting and mentoring student leaders (Alpha Leaders) and developing a dynamic calendar of events with a focus on early student addition the role contributes to major campus events serves on committees and helps align programming efforts across departments to enhance the overall student experience.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a masters degree in student development higher education or related field is preferred. A bachelors degree with three to five years of work experience in higher education is required. This role requires proven leadership experience strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to maintain prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
