Job Summary:
Directs all aspects of AVANGRID Networks real time operating platforms supporting electric and gas operations for multiple utility operating companies in multiple operating jurisdictions. System responsibilities include but are not limited to Energy Control (EMS) Outage Management (OMS) SCADA Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and other Smart Grids technologies. Responsibility for staff of 100 internal resources external contract management (60) and budgetary in excess of $26 million.
Key Responsibilities:
General Management: This position is a senior level management position responsible for multiple layers of geographically dispersed skilled technical staff. The candidate must have well-developed management and leadership skills be skilled in vendor negotiations and have executive level presentation and communication skills. (P 20%)
Strategy and System Architecture: The position is responsible for understanding corporate strategy and using that knowledge to establish the strategic direction for Smart Grids Control Systems and Automation technologies and this capacity the position is responsible for identifying and assessing technology solutions developing and executing strategic roadmaps to meet high level operational needs and ensuring the solutions are implemented in a suitable secure and supportable manner. (P 20%)
Applications: The position is responsible for directing all aspects of electric and gas control center applications development integration maintenance support and lifecycle management. Applications include but are not limited to transmission management distribution management outage management GIS and other real time applications used to manage network operations. (P 15%)
Platform Infrastructure: The position is responsible for directing all aspects of control center technical platforms and related services from architectural planning through day-to-day support. Platforms include but are not limited to server environments storage data bases private and public networks security SCADA communications and other control center platforms. (P 15%)
GIS: This position is responsible for directing all aspects of the electric and gas Geographic Information System (GIS) data software and processes. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely GIS data updates as defined by internal and external operating procedures and regulatory agencies. Provides leadership and direction to Operations Engineering and Information Technology by improving productivity and reducing expenses through the implementation of GIS technology/applications. Provides leadership and direction for the conversion of additional company data (Transmission Substation Gas etc.) from various systems and sources into a GIS format meeting the operational needs of the company. (P 15%)
Operational Processes & Compliance: Responsible for ensuring robust enterprise operational governance processes across technology domains. ensuring full attainment of system performance availability recoverability and compliance requirements. Compliance requirements include but not limited to NERC CIP FCC other applicable State and Federal requirements and corporate cyber and physical security policies. (P 15%)
Required Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities:

Strong understanding of related technologies.
Strong understanding gas and electric network operations.
Experience/Training:
10 or more years of broad based experience in technology management and/or other related areas.
Prior management/supervisory/leadership experience.
Working knowledge of the regulatory environment for utility companies including NERC CIP.
Required Education:
Bachelors degree required.
Masters in technical field and/or MBA preferred.
