A Brief Overview
Directs activities for the Bio Medical Operations in the selection procurement and delivery of biomedical equipment and services throughout the enterprise. Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with operations to provide services and technologies that enable Averas strategic initiatives. Develops annual and long-range (3-5 year) goals and objectives related to supporting the growth and development of Bio Medical Operations in response to present and future needs to enable Averas strategic initiatives. Provides technical and managerial leadership in design and planning of enterprise-wide Bio Medical Operations.
What you will do
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with operations to provide services and technologies that enable Averas strategic initiatives. Develops departmental tactics that enable Averas strategic initiatives.
- Collaborates with operational partners and service lines (e.g.) Oncology Radiology etc.) to develop support plans for devices or systems that require multi-disciplinary support.
- Provides strategic direction and operational oversight to the Bio Medical Operation teams.
- Partners with operations in identifying and troubleshooting operational problems and designing methods and procedures to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
- Directs vendor contracting service level agreements and Averas Bio Medical risk pool. Negotiates system-wide service agreements with vendors where appropriate.
- Develops and manages the annual operating budget the Bio Medical Operations department. Reviews and prioritizes all strategic capital requests for biomedical/ imaging equipment. Optimizes annual capital purchasing power by identifying opportunities to consolidate purchases across sites and fiscal years.
- Manages and evaluates equipment planning for construction projects involving biomedical equipment.
- Provides management of equipment performance and service vendors to maintain the highest standards of patient care.
- Ensures vendor compliance with established service level agreements and take the appropriate action when necessary.
- Ensures all program elements are designed and implemented to comply with Joint Commission CMS state and other regulatory and inspection agency requirements guidelines and standards Identify all opportunities from the annual Customer Satisfaction Survey.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Bachelors from a four year college or university healthcare administration business administration or related field or in process of obtaining
- 10 years Related experience and/or training
- expert level knowledge and skills within Biomedical Engineering or Imaging Services
- Management experience
