- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinics
- Residential and group home services for children and adults
- Intensive behavioral interventions and diagnostic services
- Community-based support for child welfare and juvenile justice-involved families
- Primary and outpatient behavioral healthcare

Damar is looking for Direct Support Technicians (DSTs) to join our team in Indianapolis. As a DST youll work directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism. Your role is to provide care supervision encouragement and support while helping clients build important life and social skills. You do not need previous experience to apply. If you enjoy helping others are dependable patient and willing to learn Damar provides the training you need to get started.
Schedule:
- 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm / weekend rotation every 3rd week)
- 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm / weekend rotation every 3rd week)
- 3rd shift (11:00 pm -7:30 am / weekend rotation: 2 on & 1 off)
- Weekend (7:00 am - 11:00 pm / Sat & Sun) *Can pick up an optional 8 hour shift Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing daily care supervision and support
- Helping clients develop daily living self-help and social skills
- Supporting positive social behaviors and interactions
- Following individual behavior-management plans
- Responding to and managing crisis situations
- Helping maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Leading or supervising recreational and life-enrichment activities
- Recognizing and responding to safety concerns and emergencies
- Completing daily documentation in a professional and timely manner
- Working with other staff to provide consistent individualized care.
Qualifications and Skills
- Be at least 21 to work in our Childrens Residential program however we have other Direct Support Professional roles for those between 18-21 so we still encourage you to apply if you are not 21 or over
- Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED
- Valid Indiana drivers license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damars insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
- Be clear of any felony convictions substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damars background screening

Essential Job Functions
The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop bend kneel crouch reach and twist; lift carry push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.
The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors staff instructions safety concerns and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive self-injurious sexually maladaptive elopement or other unpredictable behaviors.
Regular and acceptable attendance excluding approved absences and periods of leave is also an essential function of the position.
