Direct Support Professional (Dsp)

Shifts Available: First Shift (Day) Third Shift (Night) Overnight

ATC Healthcare is seeking compassionate attentive and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The ideal candidate will be experienced in supporting individuals with varying behavioral and personal care needs while promoting independence dignity safety and community inclusion.

Successful candidates will possess strong observational skills be proactive in recognizing behavioral precursors and cues and demonstrate the ability to effectively implement de-escalation strategies and person-centered support techniques.

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing grooming dressing toileting feeding and personal hygiene.

• Support individuals in achieving personal goals increasing independence and enhancing quality of life.

• Monitor behaviors identify triggers precursors and warning signs and respond appropriately using approved behavioral intervention techniques.

• Implement individualized service plans behavior support plans and person-centered care strategies.

• Utilize de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

• Assist with community integration recreational activities appointments and social engagement.

• Accurately document daily activities behavioral observations incidents and progress notes.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams supervisors healthcare professionals and family members.

• Maintain compliance with agency policies state regulations and client confidentiality requirements.

• Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive to the assigned facility.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

• Experience providing personal care assistance and support.

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR Certification required.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

• Ability to pass all required background checks clearances and screenings.

• Strong communication observation and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

• Experience implementing behavioral interventions and behavior support plans.

• Knowledge of person-centered care practices.

• Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.

• Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques or principles.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to recognize behavioral patterns anticipate precursors and proactively support individuals.

• Experience working within data-driven programs and accurately documenting behavioral and service outcomes.
