Job Summary
Location: Vermont
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time Part-time and Per Diem opportunities available
ATC Healthcare is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible while promoting dignity safety and community inclusion.
This position requires transporting individuals to appointments community outings and other activities; therefore candidates must possess a valid drivers license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Provide direct care and support based on each individuals care plan.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing grooming toileting and meal preparation.
- Support individuals with medication reminders or medication administration as permitted by state regulations and employer policy.
- Encourage independence life skills and participation in community activities.
- Transport individuals safely to appointments recreational activities work programs and other scheduled outings.
- Document services provided and accurately complete required reports.
- Monitor for changes in physical emotional or behavioral health and communicate concerns promptly.
- Maintain a safe clean and supportive environment.
- Build positive respectful relationships with individuals families and interdisciplinary team members.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred but not required.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass all required background screenings.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Clean driving record with an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR) required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift transfer and assist individuals as needed.
