Job Summary

Job Purpose


Assists the Direct Care Staff Supervisor and Assistant Direct Care Staff Supervisor with oversight of all Direct Care Staff Monitors on an assigned shift of either the McCaffrey or Horizon job duties include the training of new staff and ongoing daily performance management of current seamless working operations and functions such that Direct Care Staff job duties and responsibilities meet standards of performance in a complete and timely manner.




Directs specific Direct Care Staff job duties responsibilities and task-assignments as as the first point of authority for Direct Care Staff on the assigned all facility Direct Care Staff meet staffing requirements and work together as a certain the completion of required staff and client paperwork.Completes staff actions including training performance management and disciplinary staff meetings.


Job Description


Ensures daily communication between shifts:obtains brief and/or notes from previous shift and ensures proper shift notes are provided and communicated to the next shift Staff Supervisor.


Personnel Management


  • Supervises and resolves staffing with the Assistant Monitor Supervisor on a regular basis as part of the supervision team to relay and participate in resolving foreseeable problems regarding staff.
  • Handles immediate staff-related issues and performance-related matters: including daily monitoring of performance management in both formal (checklists and check-offs) and informal systems (daily delegation monitoring managing).
  • Assures that all monitors comply with BVCASA staff conduct policies.
  • Engages in hands-on on-the-job field training mentoring and shadowing of new hires or those on performance improvement plans. Authorized to assign mentors and delegate tasks to ensure timely accurate completion of duties tasks or other requirements. Responsible for completed company documentation (e.g. orientations and checklists) on staff and new hires.
  • Performs initial 6-month Performance Evaluations on introductory employees. Provides direct input into Annual Performance Appraisals.
  • Works with the HR Training Coordinator to ensure all training requirements and deadlines are met and thatDirect Care Staffare fully knowledgeable skilled and able to perform their tasks.
  • Enforces compliance through training and disciplinary procedures (e.g. verbal and written warnings). Addresses performance concerns immediately. Implements initial disciplinary actions.
  • Considers overtime requests and approves/denies overtime based on sound reason instruction and supervisors via email regarding the overtime disposition.
  • Oversees the work ofDirect Care Staffand ensures that all work assignments (including documentation) is complete accurate and meets requirements.
  • Ensures staff completely documents resident problems inappropriate behaviors and/or concerns to the TDCJ Program Director.
  • Enforces TDCJ/DSHS rules and regulations to staff and clients.
  • Ensures proper and complete shift reporting documentation and handling of all incidents.



Resident Management


  • Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with Federal Confidentiality laws and BVCASA policies and procedures.
  • Maintains high standards of care for all clients consistent with TDCJ Contract DSHS Ch. 448 rules and Program Code of Ethics.
  • Supervises and directs activities and responsibilities of the residents.
  • Handles emergent issues with residents or facility emergencies according to policies and procedures.
  • Assists staff in new client orientation if necessary.
  • Notifies TDCJ Staff on Call and/or proper authorities in case of an emergency according to policies and procedures.


Qualifications Skills and Requirements




Qualifications


High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) plus one (1) year supervisory-related and three (3) years related experience.


Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities


  • Proven ability to train supervise delegate manage and discipline.
  • Knowledge of and ability to properly document various client and staff matters.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients family members and staff.
  • Must communicate a respectful attitude towards others and encourage the same of them.
  • Ready to receive and respond to a changing environment with consistency and a positive attitude.
  • Proven ability to effectively deal with confrontational situations and implement problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-control and proper response techniques to precarious situations.
  • Able to reduce tensions by de-escalation techniques and allowing for proper work behavior and conduct.
  • Experience with clients in criminal justice system helpful.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) capabilities are a plus.


Other Requirements


Reliable transportation and telephone required. CPR First Aid and TDCJ Required Training must be satisfied before working on the : A recovering chemically dependent individual must be in recovery a minimum of one year and actively working a program of recovery.
