Job Summary
Position Title: Dining Associate (Front of House)
Reports To: Kitchen Manager
FLSA Category: Non-Exempt
The Dining Associate is responsible for maintaining an orderly welcoming environment and ensuring that all food and beverage inventory is stocked.
- Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the dining area before and after meal services as directed.
- Proactively restock dining area services and side stations before during and after meal times to ensure continuous availability.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness by cleaning the servery and clearing dining room tables and side stations throughout following each meal service.
- Ensure appropriate food temperatures are monitored and recorded periodically throughout meal service to guarantee compliance with food safety policies.
- Guarantee the safe hygienic handling and storage of all perishable food items.
- Assist in preparing hot and cold food items as well as bakery goods under the direct guidance of the Executive Chef.
- Strictly follow all established food safety sanitation and workplace health regulations.
- Work collaboratively as a supportive team player alongside co-workers and in conjunction with other campus departments.
- Assist with the execution of special events banquets and functions as needed.
- Maintain flexibility to work campus events (e.g. Commencement Registration Reunion Family Weekend etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the FOH Manager Executive Chef or Director of Dining.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the hospitality food service or catering industry is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including varied shifts evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to stand walk and remain mobile for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- Working in varied temperatures from hot kitchens to walk-in freezers.
- Ability to perform duties effectively and maintain focus in a loud fast-paced kitchen.
