Dimensional Engineering Specialist – Chassis Commodities

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of chassis commodities within vehicle requirements.
• Proficiency in performing 1D/3D stack-up analyses to evaluate design feasibility.
• Ability to organize and present complex technical information in a clear concise and impactful manner across the organization.
• Experience in Build troubleshooting.
• Capability to train and mentor team members.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T principles with proven ability to create and validate technical drawings.
• Proficiency in CATIA (V5 and V6).

Key Responsibilities

• Define and establish datum schemes tolerances and requirements for chassis commodities.
• Serve as Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) lead for feasibility assessments.
• Oversee the drawing-check process for designated vehicle commodities.
• Define and implement measurement strategies.
• Approve fixtures in accordance with project requirements.

Required Attributes

• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6-8 years experience in dimensional management.
• Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and process control.
• Strong understanding of Variation Simulation Analysis tools.
• Knowledge of measurement systems and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of dimensional engineering deliverables within the vehicle development process.
• Proficiency in standard PC tools (PowerPoint Word Excel).
