Interview Process: In-person interview process. Candidates MUST be able to interview in person no exceptions. Likely to be a 1 round panel interview with hiring manager plus 2 other team members but there could potentially be a second-round interview if the manager feels like it is needed
Hybrid work Schedule (non-negotiable): This position will require in-office work on Tuesday and Wednesday each week with the ability to work remote Monday Thursday and office days are mandatory and cannot be altered.

Overview

  • The State of Michigan (SOM) Department of Technology Management & Budget (DTMB) Agency Services MDOT team is seeking to hire a Web Accessibility Analyst to conduct reviews for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications which include standards for branding and digital accessibility. The contract has potential to extend beyond 2 years based upon SOMs needs.

Job Duties

  • Conduct reviews of SOM websites and applications and documents for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications
  • Test for digital accessibility using manual and automated tools including screen reader and other assistive technology
  • Review for adherence with additional standards including branding
  • Perform testing on desktop and mobile devices
  • Thoroughly document review results
  • Provide results to application support teams and stakeholders and meet with teams to explain results
  • Work closely with eMichigan team members to ensure processes are followed and optimized
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Education
  • Some college

Required Skills

  • 1 years of testing applications for digital accessibility
  • 1 year working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Advanced knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
  • Advanced skills using assistive technologies like JAWS NVDA VoiceOver TalkBack

Preferred Skills

  • 3 years of testing applications for digital accessibility
  • Certification related to WCAG
  • Previous government experience
