Job Summary

Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. Reporting to the Head of the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center ( NCDHC ) the Digital Projects and Outreach Manager position manages the Centers partner relationships as well as supports the daily operations of the Center. This position works closely with the Centers Head Digital Projects Coordinator Digital Projects Programmer and the Digitization Technician to advance the Centers work and build relationships with institutions around the state. This position is the main point of contact for current partner organizations. They coordinate the drop-off and pick up batches of materials from the Centers partner organizations and work with the Digital Projects Coordinator to assign the batches to the NCDHC staff. They serve as contact for biannual Digital Public Library of America harvests. The Digital Projects and Outreach Manager occasionally travels to partner organizations providing consultations regarding digital library best practices presenting on the work of the Center and visiting potential new partners. This position also develops opportunities for broad outreach and value-added resources with campus-level partners and around the state. They are also the primary manager of the Centers social media and supervises student employees.

Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
ALA -accredited masters degree in library or information science or related degree. Experience in a library archives museum or other cultural repository with significant experience involving digitization of library archival or museum materials. Demonstrated familiarity with digital imaging and metadata standards and practices. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to successfully balance competing priorities and to work with inflexible deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a highly collaborative team-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Experience working on multi-institutional collaborative projects. Familiarity with North Carolina history and culture. Supervisory experience.
