One of our government clients is seeking a qualified Dietitian to provide professional nutrition and dietetic services at a Tennessee state mental health facility. This is an on-site opportunity for a licensed Registered Dietitian to assess nutritional needs develop therapeutic nutrition plans and collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes.
Dietitian(Must be licensed as a Registered Dietitian) On-Site 11100 Old Highway 64 W Bolivar Tennessee 38008 11 Months
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision is responsible for professional dietetics work. Plans therapeutic diets and menus for a State facility and administers medical nutrition therapy to prevent and treat diseases and health conditions. Serves as a consultant to medical and nursing staff. Assesses and analyzes data from medical records including medical diagnoses medical and nutrition history food intake records anthropometric data laboratory results and other relevant documentation to make recommendations for maintaining or improving nutritional status. Assesses nutritional needs dietary regimens and current medical treatment to develop and implement nutrition care plans and provide nutritional counseling. Calculates weight range Body Mass Index (BMI) and nutritional requirements including daily caloric intake protein fluids and other essential nutrients as necessary to establish nutrition care plans. Reviews the caloric and nutrient content including protein vitamins and minerals of individual and facility menus to determine adjustments required to meet clients therapeutic nutritional needs.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in Dietetics Nutrition Home Economics (Food) or a closely related field.
Experience equivalent to three years of professional dietetics work including at least one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Additional graduate coursework in Dietetics Nutrition Home Economics (Food) or a closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required non-specialized experience.
In-Office Requirements:
This position is 100% on-site at the Tennessee state facility. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST with 7.5 working hours per day. No weekend work is required.
