Job Summary

The Diet Tech will supportthe Food Service Director in managing daily Dietary Department operations ensuring compliance with regulations and delivery of safe high-quality nutritional services. This role combines administrative duties with nutrition support to maintain efficient operations and accurate resident meal service.

Job responsibilities & Functions:
  • Perform administrative tasks including data entry recordkeeping reporting and general office support
  • Manage phone calls and emails that come from nursing and dieticians in regards to diet changes
  • Maintain resident diet orders nutrition records and meal service accuracy
  • Conduct meal rounds assist with menu selections and address resident concerns
  • Monitor food quality tray line accuracy and ensure proper meal delivery
  • Maintain systems such as resident databases and tray ticket programs
  • Support inventory when needed
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation safety and regulatory standards
  • Assist with other duties and tasks in the kitchen and with the dietary team



Qualifications:

  • Degree in Food & Nutrition or related field preferred or 23 years of relevant experience
  • Strong organizational communication and technical skills (Microsoft Office proficiency required)
  • Maintain professionalism confidentiality and respectful communication
  • Promote a clean safe and welcoming environment

Other Requirements:

  • Serv Safe certified a plus.
  • Be able to work in cooperation with other staff members.
  • Have an understanding of affection for and a desire to work with the aging.


ABOUT THIS POSITION

This is aFull-Time (40 hours) hourly position paying $18-$20/HRbased at The Actors Fund Home in Englewood NJ. The successful candidate must be able to cover assigned shifts on a regular basis including holidays and should be available to cover vacations/call outs of other team members on occasion.
