Guardian Fleet Services is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Louisville this role you will inspect diagnose repair and maintain a variety of fleet vehicles including tow trucks and wreckers powered by both diesel and gasoline engines. • Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment
• Inspect and replace components such as engines transmissions steering systems and brakes
• Perform computer-based diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical issues
• Service and repair air brake systems
• Complete routine maintenance including:
  • Oil changes
  • Brake inspections
  • Wheel balancing
  • Alignments
  • Preventative maintenance services
• Create repair plans and accurately document completed work
• Maintain parts inventory and service records
• Keep the shop and work area clean organized and safe
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Technical training or certification in diesel engine repair preferred
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related vehicle systems
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems hydraulic systems and air brake systems
• Ability to use diesel diagnostic software and computerized troubleshooting tools
• Experience using hand tools power tools and shop equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Valid drivers license

• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more
• Must be able to stand walk bend kneel crawl crouch and work underneath vehicles for extended periods
• Ability to climb and work at various heights as needed
• Must not have lifting restrictions
• Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
• Regular exposure to hydraulic fluid motor oil antifreeze diesel fuel and other automotive products
• Ability to work in a moderately loud shop environment
