Job Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction activities across multiple task orders performed under an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. This position ensures projects are completed safely on schedule within budget and in compliance with contract requirements quality standards and applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing federal construction projects including renovations repairs facility upgrades and new construction. This individual serves as the primary on-site leader coordinating subcontractors vendors and government stakeholders to successfully execute project objectives. Minimum of five (5) years of construction management experience.
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for multiple IDIQ task orders.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements project plans specifications and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors vendors clients and government representatives.
- Enforce site safety programs and quality control procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations and EMrequirements.
- Coordinate daily construction operations workforce assignments equipment utilization and subcontractor activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with safety quality and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily reports construction logs and field documentation.
- Participate in project meetings including pre-construction conferences progress meetings and safety briefings.
- Provide regular updates to the IDIQ Manager regarding project status milestones risks and potential issues.
- Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges that may impact project schedule budget safety or quality.
- Support project documentation and deliverables including schedules Requests for Information (RFIs) submittals change documentation and as-built drawings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives.
- Ability to remain on-site throughout project performance until work is completed and formally accepted.
- Thorough knowledge of EMrequirements and experience with hazard identification risk mitigation and safety compliance.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings specifications and critical path method (CPM) schedules.
- Strong understanding of construction management principles methodologies building systems materials and industry best practices.
- Working knowledge of civil structural mechanical electrical and HVAC construction disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership team-building problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction schedules CAD drawings blueprints and as-built documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must successfully complete overseas medical screening requirements and maintain good physical health.
- Valid drivers license and ability to obtain any required driving credentials within the country of assignment.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification strongly preferred.
- Experience working with the Electronic Construction Management System (eCMS) is highly desirable.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering (Civil Mechanical Electrical) Architecture or a related field preferred.
