Development Review Technician I: Reviews preliminary building construction plans to ensure compliance with the City of Orlandos Land Development Codes and other applicable codes ordinances or standards in assigned areas of responsibilities (such as new and existing residential or commercial buildings signage driveways parking areas and landscapes). Explains reasons for approval or disapproval.Utilize working fiscal knowledge of development impact fees for commercial and residential construction.Performs other related duties as assigned. Work is performed under close supervision until sufficient experience and knowledge is gained to work under general supervision.
Development Review Technician II: Under general supervision reviews preliminary building construction plans to ensure compliance with the City of Orlandos Land Development Codes Concurrency Management and other applicable codes ordinances or standards in assigned areas of responsibilities (such as new and existing residential or commercial buildings signage driveways parking areas and landscapes). Consults with developers and property owners to explain reasons for approval or disapproval and offer alternatives to meet compliance.Utilize working fiscal knowledge of development impact fees for commercial and residential construction.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Development Review Technician I: Associates Degree in Engineering Technology Business or related field and two (2) years experience in construction permitting planning drafting or related field; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Development Review Technician II: Associates Degree in Engineering Technology Business or related field and four (4) years related experience in construction permitting planning drafting or related field; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

If this posting indicates a degree is required the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a masters degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
