Summary
The role of Development Assistantprovides part-timeadministrative supportto the DevelopmentDepartment. The positionis responsible forprocessing donor acknowledgments maintaining database accuracy preparing correspondenceand mailings responding to general email inquiries andproviding general administrativesupport to theDevelopment team. The position periodically assists with events and does nothave fundraising ordonor solicitation responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Donor acknowledgement processing including preparing printing and mailing correspondence
  2. Database data entry and quality control
  3. General Administrative support for the Development Department
  4. Special mailings & email communications
  5. Responds to email inquiries
  6. Periodically assists with events
  7. Occasional interaction with residents staff volunteers and the public with courtesy and respect
  8. All other duties as assigned
Resident Guest and Internal Customer Focus
The Development Assistant is sensitive to emotional spiritual and practical needs of residents families guests and staff members in all interactions. Provides positive feedback and comments about the quality of work and effort that have been offered by residents families and coworkers. Adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific customer needs. Reports and/or corrects problems related to safety cleanliness and comfort of residents and work areas. Universal Precautions and Infection Control techniques are followed. Understands own role facility safety plans and procedures related to fire weather and other disasters is demonstrated. Always strives to ensure best possible outcome for each resident.
Education and/or Experience
  • Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
  • Experience working in an administrative support role
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Flexible organized and able to multi-task and handle shifting priorities
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office including Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient experience working with a relational database preferred
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and relationships
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage information accurately
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions
  • Experience working effectively on a team
  • Able to establish cooperative working relationships with residents staff volunteers donors and community partners
  • Ability to work during standard business hours (Monday - Friday); some evenings Saturdays or Sundays if needed
  • Subject to passing a drug screen and background check
  • Transportation and valid Florida drivers license
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Able to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment.
