Job Summary

A Detailer is responsible for cleaning vehicles for customers.

Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities

• Vacuums interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris using vacuum cleaner.
• Clean upholstery carpets and others surfaces using cleaning agent applicators and cleaning devices.
• Applies revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.
• Cleans engine and engine compartment with various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
• Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer

General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities

• Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
• Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• Must be able to lift items up to 50 - 75 lbs.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and computers.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Preferred working knowledge of car parts and the tools used for cars.
• Preferred basic knowledge regarding chemical formulas for various cleaning products and the most effective way to use them.
• Current valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Working Conditions

The employee will work indoors and outdoors in an auto shop environment.
