Job Summary
Design Verification Test Engineer I (Contingent) Imaging in Goleta CA. Contractor (pay-as-you-go). 100% Onsite. 2 positions. Marketplace Pay Rate: $55.00/hr. Approximately 7-month contract (Aug 24 2026 - Mardays). 40 hrs/week; Monday-Thursday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST with a 60-minute meal break.
Summary: The Verification Engineer (Test Engineer I) designs and executes verification activities for Karl Storz Imaging devices and systems including the design and implementation of test infrastructure to assess image quality as well as optical mechanical and electrical requirements. Creates and executes thorough verification procedures and documents results in technical reports for engineering review.
Day-to-day: 70% hands-on testing 30% documentation. Many tests are already planned and assigned; communicate with systems engineering for modified or new requirements to be defined tested and documented. Collaborate with the team on execution/automation of test procedures and documentation of results; constant communication with the test lab.
Design Verification Functions:
- Design test procedures for the purposes of design verification
- Execute released test procedures written by self and others to perform design verification of KS devices and systems
- Collect analyze and display test results in a usable manner
- Document and track issues found during verification activities
- Frequent communication with design verification peers regarding status and schedules
- Regular attendance is an essential job function
Required:
- 0-3 years of experience in Design and Systems Verification
- Computer and application proficiency; English business fluent
- Strong analytical skills and good technical report writing skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Positive mindset collaborative good time management high productivity
Preferred:
- 3 years of Systems Verification in a challenging product development environment
- Knowledge of highly regulated industry quality system regulations and standards
- Experience verifying complex devices and systems
- Experience with Test Procedures and Requirements tools (DOORS PTC Polarion etc.)
- Experience with development processes (V-model Agile Lean)
- Familiarity with MATLAB LabVIEW or similar for automated testing and data collection
- Standouts will have testing experience technical knowledge and programming skill (C MATLAB LabVIEW)
Education: BS Electrical Engineering BS Electrical and Computer Science or equivalent; Masters in an Engineering discipline a plus. Any experience in medical or imaging instruments (or any highly regulated industry) is a plus.
Interview: up to 2 interviews; first is 1:1 with the Hiring Manager (30 min) second TBD.
