Design Technician

PURPOSEThis individual is responsible for creating designs and drawings prepared directly from information submitted on a company order form clients customer selection sheet repeated from previous jobs or from information developed by a design manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with outside sales personnel and customers to accurately complete safe and quality stability deflection and load carries in a manner that will meet or surpass codes associated with each quality control procedures for completeness accuracy and code compliance for the implementation of design with client technical staff and other Design Services personnel and prepares design modifications as and complete design details from original concept drawings and prepare layouts. Draws rough sketches or arranges for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly technical descriptions specifying material qualities and design(s) for most efficient and profitable use of inventory equipment and labor as time a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous Duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with PrimeCad MS Word MS Excel and AutoCAD Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
