Job Summary
PURPOSEThis is a second-level position the primary responsibilities of which include using computer-aided design and drafting software (VectorWorks) to create designs from rough sketches drawings specifications and other engineering data in accordance with state and local building codes in order to facilitate the sale process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMinimum of six (6) months experience as CAD Designer I as well as overall mastery of each of its job responsibilities; Achieve an overall mastery and understanding of HVAC system design as used by Pleasant Valley Homes; Complete detailed and accurate pre-construction drawings necessary to achieve a stamp of approval with minimum errors including but not limited to:Completing individual detailed dimensioned floor plan drawings complete with header sizing featuring ultimate gravity and uplift calculations; In cooperation with third-party HVAC designers complete HVAC system design; Utilize basic roof truss profiles to accurately layout trusses necessary to achieve designs;Complete full electrical prints with completed circuits electrical loading diagrams cooperation with third-party engineering firms produce braced wall seismic zone and high wind calculations as well as out-sourced structural calculations that require the stamp of a registered professional engineer; Order state and HUD labels as required;Have mastery of applicable building codes (IRC NEC HUD/Mfg.);Begin to complete first-stage production details (window bucks miscellaneous .dwgs etc.); Become familiar with modular state-approved systems manuals and/or HUD DAPIA manual; Begin to develop experience with Cabinet Vision cabinet design software and cross-train on same. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All qualifications of CAD Designer I; A minimum of six (6) months experience as CAD Designer I as well as an overall mastery of each of its job responsibilities. COMPETENCIESAbility to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management public groups and/or boards of to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITYThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
