Design Technician – Electric Utility Projects (Entry Level)

This is a 100% in-office role based in Charlotte NC providing hands-on experience through daily collaboration with project teams exposure to utility design processes and opportunities for field visits and site observations to better understand project execution and construction environments. This role is ideal for someone looking to build their technical skills gain industry experience and grow within a supportive team focused on professional development.

About the Role:
Are you ready to take the next step in your career ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking an entry-level Electrical Design Technician to join our dynamic team! In this role you will contribute to the design of overhead and underground electrical utility projects gaining hands-on experience in the field of electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems for overhead and underground utility projects including creating detailed construction drawings and accurate bills of materials.
• Perform field visits (25%-30%) to inspect infrastructure and ensure the accuracy of designs.
• Support pre-construction activities answering questions related to the job site and design.
• Ability to work in a customer and client-facing environment with strong customer service skills

What Were Looking For:

• Entry-level experience (0-3 years) in a design engineering role.
• Proficiency in drafting/design software (e.g. AutoCAD MicroStation etc.) and Microsoft Office.
• Client-Focused Customer Service & Relationship Management
• Willingness to travel locally as needed for project & storm support
• Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation for fielding expectations.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Associates degree in technical related field is preferred
• Familiarity with electrical distribution systems and concepts is a plus

• Lighting Contract Manipulation
• Strong organizational & multitasking skills
