About the Role

As Design Management Lead Construction Administration you will confirm building design delivery during construction for an NYC DDC Design-Build facility in the Bronx. You will coordinate closely with the Design-Builder technical consultants construction teams and DDC to ensure design requirements are met and construction activities remain aligned with project scope quality schedule and cost objectives.

The position will initially be based in Midtown/Lower Manhattan before transitioning primarily to the Bronx with approximately one day per week in Midtown.

Key Responsibilities
  • Confirm design and system compliance with project requirements including RFIs and submittals.
  • Support delivery of project work to established scope quality schedule and cost requirements.
  • Evaluate Design-Builder progress and support corrective actions when required.
  • Review submittals RFIs shop drawings samples mock-ups and change orders.
  • Confirm design documentation meets established scope standards schedule and budget requirements.
  • Resolve construction-related design issues with the Design-Builder and project team.
  • Coordinate DOB FDNY and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspection-readiness activities.
  • Participate in pre-walks and testing milestones to support inspection readiness.
  • Coordinate Subject Matter Expert (SME) critical-scope site visits and track closeout activities.
  • Conduct inspections and field observations including documentation with photographs and drawing/specification references.
  • Track outstanding field issues through resolution and closure.
  • Coordinate design management and construction administration activities across project disciplines.
  • Provide leadership and project management support while maintaining ownership of team and project results.
  • Communicate effectively with DDC Design-Builder representatives consultants and other project stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree and approximately 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with contract-document review field inspections/spot checks and condition reporting.
  • Background in project design planning and construction administration.
  • Experience with high-rise construction and/or major public projects.
  • Design-Build experience.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of team and project results.
  • Strong client-facing verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with NYC agencies preferred.
  • Architectural license desirable.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adoption of emerging tools and technologies.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
