Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Defensive Cyber Operations Engineerto support our Colorado Springs CO location.

Duties:

  • Coordinate the development intergeneration and optimization of threat analytic tools within customized virtual environments to support Test and Evaluation (T&E) for U.S. Government systems.
  • This Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Engineer will work directly with customers as a liaison between Defensive Cyber Operations tool developers and Cyber Range developers. PeopleTec is building Cyber Range environments used for T&E during the development of DCO tools. We are looking for a DCO engineer to work directly with the customer developing the DCO tools to ensure successful range integration for T&E.
  • The perfect candidate will have the soft skills required to work directly with customers and the technical skills required to ensure DCO Tool and Cyber Range development teams are able to align priorities and capabilities for maximizing successful T&E events.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive cyber threat research utilizing advanced methodologies to uncover and analyze potential threats vulnerabilities and incidents that could impact organizational security.
  • Experience identifying Assessment Objectives for the development of Critical Assessment Conditions and Key Test Points based on operational Red Force/Blue Force to support DCO training scenarios
  • Prior field experience performing Cyber Threat Hunting and Analysis as well as Incident Response and Forensic Analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in ELK Suricata Yara Zeek and Wireshark. Advanced proficiency in log flow data and PCAP analysis.
  • Ability to replicate and generate log traffic for a training environment based on various platforms to demonstrate tools capabilities.
  • Ability to develop processes and tools for verification and validation of DCO tool capabilities.
  • Familiarity with working in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Travel: 10 %
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active TS/SCI clearance upon hire and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science; Computer Engineering Information Systems; or equivalent.

Benefits offered can be found here:Benefits compliance with Colorados Equal Pay for Equal Work Act the salary range for this role is $130000 - $180000; however PeopleTec considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience education/training and critical skills.
